Wrongful termination claims under the Industrial Relations Act 2012, proceedings before the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC), EOBI compliance, employment contract disputes, and workplace harassment matters under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010.
Termination disputes for workers covered by the Industrial Relations Act 2012 are generally raised as a grievance with the employer first, and if unresolved, proceed to the NIRC or the relevant labour court. Workplace harassment complaints follow a separate, dedicated inquiry process under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010.
An employee was terminated without the notice or severance the employment contract required. We filed the grievance and, when it wasn't resolved internally, took the matter to the labour court, resulting in a settlement covering the full contractual severance.
